Cid Freitag has created photomontages for more than 20 years, starting out with black-and white photos, an X-Acto knife and rubber cement. The subject themes vary, being fed by eclectic interests and introspection. Her influences and inspirations come from diverse sources including the elements, plants, the cosmos, stones, places, spiritual practices, personal transformation and a human existence.

The name "Emantion Art" came when someone purchased a montage to mail to friend. The friend claimed that the package emanated before she opened it.
